A striking glazed earthenware French Majolica (or barbotine) Oyster Plate crafted by the famous Gien workshop in France.
Circa 1950s.
Maker's stamp on the back.
This gorgeous plate in a coastal color of olive green features six wells for oysters nestled in a seaweed design with a center well for sauces or lemons.
A perfect French plate functional for use or displayed in a collection or plate wall.

Condition: This plate is in beautiful vintage condition with a rich, glossy glaze. Please note that this specific piece is unsigned and does not bear the stamped Gien maker's mark on the reverse. This is very common for vintage French majolica and oyster plates of this era, which were often marked selectively or with paper labels. The mold pattern, olive-green glaze character, and weight are identical to known, stamped Gien production pieces.
